Small, but Life-changing habits that help you lose weight

Do you ever wonder how some people stay so skinny and they don’t even take part in the dieting trends that many of us do? Well, there are some small habits that you can adopt in your life, which collaboratively can help you lose weight and keep it off.

1. Don't deprive yourself.
you really can enjoy all the foods you love. The key here is moderation, because no single food makes you gain weight. Instead, it’s all about the portion sizes you eat. "Enjoy the foods you love in moderation".

2. Eat until you feel satisfied, not full.
Even though it an old-fashioned advice, it is actually very helpful, put down your fork between every bite, not only will you enjoy your meal more, it will also help you realize when to stop eating before you feel bloated or too full.

3. Make sure half of your plate contains veggies.

Vegetables are rich in fiber and water so they fill you up without filling you out, and use them as decorations for you dish and table

4. Never skip a meal.

Many people skip their meals wishing that it will help them lose some weight, well.., sorry to till you that it works the other way around; skipping meals actually stimulate fat storage as an adaptive way from our bodies for protection against starvation.

5. Stay hydrated.
Did you know sometimes that feeling of hunger is actually just thirst?!! Make sure you’re getting your eight glasses of water a day to prevent that problem.

6. Don't eat in front of the TV or other techs.

Eating in front of screens is a trap, you eat without conscious, and suddenly when you look at your plat, its empty!!

Eat while admiring and savoring every bite with family or friends.

7. Avoid eating after dinner.
Calories give us energy and you don’t need energy to sleep, but if you do crave for a snack in long evenings, choose healthy low-calorie ones. You can see some snack suggestions in Ideas for work-convenient healthy snacks.

8. Sleep for 6 to 8 hours each night.

Getting a good night's sleep has been linked to a host of major health benefits, not the least of which is maintaining a healthy body weight. Lack of sleep has been shown to increase appetite, lowers working capacity, and bolsters cravings for high-calorie foods.

9. Learn to take a joke.

Laughing for 15 minutes each day can help you burn 10 to 40 calories, depending on your body size and the intensity of your laughter. This adds up to about one to four pounds of fat lost per year. There’s also been plenty of research linking happy people to all-around healthier lifestyles.

10. Move your butt more often.

Walk around your house or building, park your car little bit further than the grocery-shop door, leave the elevator for older or lazier people and take the stairs more frequently, do house chores yourself, play with kids every once awhile, etc.

All these small changes help you lose weight and enjoy life and health more.
