Foods that accelerate your ageing process

Believe it or not but some foods age you "faster" and look older than your real age, while other foods help to reverse that process and "fight" aging.

How do some foods make us age faster and look older?

It is due to the way of our body processing them, or end-products they result in once they are digested and entered in our system. Some foods accelerate aging process by:

  • Causing sluggish digestion. Food that cause slow bowel movement and take long time to digest, have impact on the glowing of your skin and clearance of your mood, and decreased absorption of the good nutrient that you need.
  • Increasing inflammation. Inflammation is the body’s normal response to injury or infection, but some foods “or the overall type of foods that you eat” can exaggerate your body’s inflammation or slow the healing process from inflammation after being infected or injured, which is a stressful condition for your body.
  • Increasing oxidative stress. Some foods increase the oxidative stress –which is an imbalance between the production of (free radicals) and the body’s detoxifying process of these free radicals- And as the name shows it is an increased stress on the body that increase your biological age.
  • Disturbing hormonal balance. Some foods disturb body’s hormonal balance, like increasing the production of insulin for example which is accused for causing cellulite, abdominal fat, carbohydrate cravings, fast weight gain, all of which deprive you from your youth looks.

Fight wrinkles and add years to your life by eating a healthy, nutrient-dense, colorful diet; which may not only help to increase longevity, but may also promote what is known as “active life expectancy” -the time in late life free of disability and disease that compromise the quality of life-.

List of foods to eat less from to avoid getting into senescence too early:

  • Excessive Sugar

Eating unnecessary added sugars in your diet is related increased insulin levels and can lead to overweight and abdominal obesity.

  • Excessive Salt

Overconsumption of salt increases inflammation and disturbs hormonal balance –especially those responsible for blood pressure regulation-and is highly related to onset of hypertension.

  • Too much of protein and fat foods

Such as meat, cheese, and egg yolk because they are rich in AGEs which are proteins or lipids that become glycated after exposure to sugars; they alter cell structure and function, and contribute to the microvascular and macrovascular complications of diabetes.

  • Bad fats

Bad fats are trans-fats or hydrogenated fats; they affect normal cell function and linked to increased inflammation, hormonal imbalance, and coronary heart disease.

  • Overconsumption of white foods

Diet focused on white foods or carbohydrate based foods lead to increased insulin blood levels, abdominal obesity and imbalanced hormones.

Moderation is the key, whenever you over consume of any food, your body has a bad way of dealing with it.
